PARTICIPATION & LIFESTYLE

LAND PURCHASE & MANAGEMENT

In addition to the collective achievements brought forth by the wonders of passionate voluntary work, aspiring residential communities usually need a solid financial plan to get started. They usually face stark difficulties right away establishing durable material foundations and find themselves fundraising campaigns or investment hunting.

Rather than relying primarily on the generosity of potential donators unlikely to gain any privilege in return for the financial support they would have provided; rather than relying primarily on the hopes of potential investors which would contractually bind its founders to honoring a lucrative promise, Tiamat Center should see one of its first founding steps as a thoroughly discussed and agreed upon  financial contribution by each and every one of its original members, i.e. initiators, creators and immediate beneficiaries of the project.

In order to ensure the integrity and continued resilience of Tiamat Center, such members will come as close as state laws and legal statuses allow to owning land and enjoying it under the attributes of 'inalienable' and 'indivisible' property. This implies that collectively owned acreage comes as one, cannot ever be used or exploited for any purposes other than the expressed needs and objectives of Tiamat Center, and cannot be claimed back or subdivided as compensation/reparation by any of its owners should they decide to withdraw from the project in one way or another. Such owner may request that part of their initial investment be returned to them upon leaving, which may or may not be granted depending on the significance of their contribution and the circumstances under which they departed. In so doing, they would immediately and legally surrender their ownership rights to the property, including their right to dwell on it unless explicitly allowed otherwise by unanimous agreement between remaining owners.

FINANCIAL OPTIONS

Starting back in 2020 and up to today's economic instability (fall 2023), we consider owning gold/silver as well as s
tockpiling cash - obviously not in a bank account - as two of the safest financial strategies to adopt as private individuals. Once the deflationary recession begins some time this year or in 2024 - the trigger being the FED pivoting - and the current inflationary period comes to an end, prices are going to go down. Should this scenario occur, those who understand history usually repeats itself and who managed to secure funds, will find themselves in an increasingly better spot.

For the time being, two regular forms of financial contribution should be offered for residency rights:

🞯 You are willing to help us secure land ownership now, at a time we need your support most.

Financing with a substantial investment in its market value honors Tiamat Center's raison d'etre and grants you the opportunity to reside and collaborate with us free of charge whenever and for however long you wish.

🞯 You are willing to join once land is acquired.

Live among us part or full-time for an initial adaptive residential fee. Your contribution is first set to a standard monthly rate, which will then either be maintained, reduced or removed based on the nature, extent and evolution of your involvement towards the center's most imperative needs.

NUTRITION OPTIONS

We will produce most if not all foods intended for human consumption in compliance with dietary programs such as those designed by researchers Dr. L. Wilson and Aajonus Vonderplanitz. Such diets include vegetables, meat, dairy products and fruit consumed in ways that preserve their nutritional value.

Everyone should be granted the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of a healthy diet based on 20th and 21st century holistic development theories as well as the ancient Taoist science of biochemical and bioenergetic balance.

INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION & INTEGRATION

New coming members may adopt any lifestyle they wish as long as this lifestyle is in accordance with our transparent core set of values. One requirement for all members - new or not - is enforced: to personally and committedly assist and contribute in their own way to a number of TC's needs, projects and activities that they choose*. We encourage every individual to live organically with and around other members and to spontaneously initiate or partake in any activity of their liking which supports their own inner work as well as strengthens our unique community.

Please inquire with any private or personal questions you may have, also contact us if you'd like to view our synthetic list of suggested practical activities at the bottom of this page to see if they resonate with your aspirations. Here's a sample:

RESIDENTIAL LAYOUT & CONVENIENCE

One of the cornerstones of rural living is connectedness with nature, its biodiversity and Earth, which calls for building and living in grounding, non-toxic cob constructions, tree houses as well as other chosen natural buildings which do not degrade or threaten the environment but harmoniously blend in and respect it. These living areas can be customized, built at our own pace, remodeled,  and will - in addition to their remarkable inherent properties - all provide:

- a minimum of 250 ft² of main floor living space

- outdoor buffer zones (based on acreage) between your private quarters and that of other residents

- cooking area

- toilet + shower & bathtub with hot water

- sound-proof windows and door

- chemical-free indoor and outdoor

- cable internet access in a wifi-free environment

- emf shielding (if desired)

- air conditioning and/or fireplace (if desired)

Beyond that, each housing configuration is up to personal preferences*, skills, needs and how many hands are available. Natural building (cob, straw, stone, etc) is great in that it allows for simply made houses which can be renovated or upgraded easily later on.

Are you willing to share your living space with other members? Would you rather Build a medium to large-sized structure with a number of individual bedrooms connected to a shared area, or enjoy some kind of underground solitary bunker? We can work on that too!

About the direct natural environments and landscaping designs that will surround you, you may want to refer to our "Community Design" section. imagine an 80 acre long-term permaculture food forest managed as a gigantic organic communal garden.

*Unlike collectives that reside at Ken Wilber’s Green level of development, we find it critical to mention that we do not rely on consensus decision making or try to subsume individual awareness and willpower into the collective. Although we encourage harmony, openness, and shared pursuits, we also grasp how disagreement and individual leadership can establish a dialectical process toward greater evolution. You may want to refer to such basic concepts as 'Natural Order' or 'Dharma'.

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION & ECO-ENVIRONMENT

Our realistically optimal choice of land would be at least 20-30 acres of forest - as close as can be to old-growth forest - with strictly organic environment and traditional living potential. This land shall remain preserved in its natural state by our residents and visitors, i.e. exploited near-exclusively through durable, sustainable ecoforestry and syntropic farming.

In addition to the resource you can find elsewhere on this website, we recommend looking into the works of people such as Ernst Gotsch and many others.

We're currently networking, saving funds, and gathering a solid small group of founders before collectively picking our future geographic location. We're also looking into non-profit organization options, more specifically those falling under the tax category of 'church'.

Local building restrictions and county regulations aren't overwhelmingly absurd

The geographic vicinity offers a balance of access to culture, technology, amenities, and a diversified local economy

At this point in time and space continuum and discussions amongst interested parties, we're mainly considering forested and/or mountainous, semi-rural areas with substantial rain and within 30-40 minute from the nearby major city, places like:

Austria / Slovenia (near Ljubljana)

Thailand (near chiang Mai)

You can find appealing examples of properties currently for sale in these areas below.
